I agree, the restaurant is average Italian from a food perspective. Kids are not welcome, but the service staff was friendly.
Since I'm Italian I rarely go to Italian restaurants. But my husband and I were very happy with the food and ambiance at Cantina Sforza. My small children loved the pizza there as well. The staff was friendly to them, but it's not the most child-friendly since drinks are served heavy glass drinking glasses, which made me nervous.
I've had lunch at Sforza three times in the Fall of 2007. Excellent food, attentive service and reasonable prices. The "pollo regina", "pollo contadina" and "salmone placido" were fresh, cooked to perfection and nicely complemented - but not overwhelmed - with excellent sauces, including first rate roasted red peppers, goat cheese and asparagus For dessert, I kept going back to the Tiramisu a perfect combination of espresso, mascarpone mousse and flaked chocolate.
