I live in Burlington but decided to go to Rang kind of far but we went with my wife because the reviews were consistent.
And I agree with the other reviewers. The food was excellent, what we liked the most is that it felt that it was freshly made, not re-heated many times like in other places. One could really distinguish the ingredients, they were not mashed together. The attention was nice. The ambiance was not ostentatious but fine.
I recently enjoyed the cuisine of Rang. The chicken tiki marsala was very flavorful and the Naan bread incredible. The atmosphere is subdued and conducive to conversation with friends. The owner, Param, was on the premise this evening and explained how the name of the restaurant represented colors in Sanskrit and the coloring of the interior walls were done with this in mind. He also explained the spices that comprise the foundation of many of his regional Indian dishes. The liquor assortment is great and public parking and the Stoneham Theatre are nearby. I highly recommend!
The Rang Indian Bistro was my introduction to Indian Food. Their Naan bread is so flavorful and tender that I could order nothing but Naan and skip the meal. This is not to say the main courses are not worth the trip to the restaurant as all the dishes I have eaten there are a dance of flavors on the tongue. The atmosphere is very relaxing and there is no attempt to hurry the diner out the door to make room for the next patron. My only regret is that it took so long to discover Indian cuisine and The Rang Bistro.
