I can't believe I actually had to pay for what they called "food" at this restaurant. Worst Hibachi experience I've ever had. I'm in the Military and am stationed in San Angelo for a few months for training, and I can't stress enough how unpleasant this place is.

The service was absolutely atrocious! And the food was worse. The server brought people's appetizers 5 minutes after the chef was already cooking. The rice was burnt, and the meat was very poor quality cuts. The shrimp cocktail they brought me consisted of 5 shrimp that looked and tasted like they were cooked about a month ago and had been sitting in a freezer ever since. They had a consistency of something between rubber and imitation crab meat.

Then when the chef was finished cooking, he actually started cleaning the grill while we were still eating. That may not seem too bad, but when you're trying to eat and you have this horrible smelling steam flying in your face, it's pretty disgusting. And it doesn't help that when he poured the water on the grill, he sloshed it on with such disregard that it actually splashed up on to one of my friends' plates and her arm as well.

And to top it all off, one of the other ladies that was at dinner with us actually had to rush to the bathroom because she was becoming sick. And yes, she vomited.

Bottom line, this place was a complete waste of time and money, and I'm really astounded that they're still in business.

If you're looking to try good Hibachi, check out a place called Shogun on Sherwood. I've been there 6 times in the 2 months I've been here. I have 3 weeks left and I plan on going at least twice more!

Hope this helps someone from making a bad decision if they're considering trying the Bonsai Garden. Don't waste your time.

stopped in to eat there tonight and was absolutely APPALLED at the disgusting state of the entire restaurant. the floors, tables, walls and even the chairs were covered with sticky grime. went to the ladies restroom and ran into blood, feces and vomit on the floor, toilets and doors. the trash had not been taken out in what looked like days. my husband went to wash his hands in the men's room, and had to walk out because it was so disgusting. we left without ordering. i do NOT reccomend this "restaurant" until they get a new rating and inspection from the health department.

Three of us got REALLY sick for two days after eating here. I am pretty sure our shrimp wasn't cooked all the way. They don't give you as much to eat as Ichiban and it was WAY too salty.
