Nopa is a great place to get together and try out some of the finest wines from around the globe, while enjoying an array of organic cuisine prepared in a wood-fire stove. The extensive wine list offers bottles from Italy, Spain, France, and Germany. The atmosphere is laid back and entertaining, you can eat at the bar and watch the chefs in action as they prepare food in the open kitchen. Whether you're a wine novice or expert, you'll surely find a perfect vintage to fit your taste.
A friend of mind recommended this restaurant and so I took several friends there this past Thursday. Â Due to lack of reservations though, our wait was a bit longer than usual as we were told, but they did comp us with free french fries, which was congenial, we thought. The atmosphere was fun enough for our lively group, and it was good to get friendly, knowledgeable service from the waiter (very knowledable on the food and what wines to pair with it). Overall, we were pleased and would definitely go back again.
Nice atmosphere, long wait, friendly staff. Fabulous coffee in the French press. Loads of rich, high cal/high fat foods--they're everywhere. "Salad" had chunky bacon, poached egg, walnuts...and no greens. Goat cheese w/crostinis was good, but oily and heavy. Chicken was just ok. Fun place to be, just make reservations if you want to be seated in
Great late eats: The communal table is a great concept. Just be prepared for the fact that the place is lively and very noisy, and that the wait is going to be long. The food is robust and big on flavor. (The pork chop is great as advertised.) This is a warm, unpretentious place that is perfect for a few friends to hang out, have a drink and eat some good food.
