went for dinner based on reviews on this website. The staff and owner are great. My husbands food was very good (I tasted it and stole all his hugh puppies, yum). I was a little disappointed in mine as the lobster in the pasta was mushy. The bread pudding was wonderful. All in all it was a very good experience and I would certainly go back for seconds.
What a wonderful experience. Our mission group arrived there on a Saturday evening, just about 1/2 hour before closing. We had just driven in from St. Louis, Missosuri after a 10 hour drive. There were 16 of us. They were so gracious, the server was efficent and attentive. The food was great. I recommend the food and the hospitality. I had shrimp and grits....wow.....fantastic!! They stayed late so we could finish up. Our first contact with Gulfport...it was fabulous and the rest of the week was up hill from there!!!!!!! A class act!!!
This was my second time at Lookout 49. I went for lunch on a Friday. When I came in, there was one other family. I was quickly seated and told someone would be right out to get my order. Another couple came in, was seated and immediately asked what they wanted to drink. I was still waiting. Their drinks came and I had not been waited on yet. I waited a little longer then three of the wait staff stood at the opening of the kitchen looking at us customers. This is the time I decided to leave. I walked past the host podium and told them I had changed my mind. When I got to my car, one of the hostess' ran out and asked if I had been helped. I told her I did not. She explained that one of the wait staff had walked out earlier that morning and apologized. So because their wait staff left, the customers in their area wasn't getting waited on???? I was very upset no one noticed that out of three families in there, I didn't have a drink or no one took my order. Very upsetting!
