good food, nice chefs, pretentious waiters. The restaurant was full since it is really small, so we sat at the bar and had dinner. The bar is basically their kitchen so expect to smell like food when you are done with your dinner.
I came here for my birthday back in January. The food was amazing. Really really excellent. My date and I even got brave and tried the fois gras with gnocchi appetizer. I really wanted to like the fois gras, and we did finish the plate, but agreed it's not our thing. Not the restaurant's fault by any means. I also had the pork chop on a bed of hog's head mac and cheese, which was excellent. Dessert was an amazing apricot cornbread, maple ice cream, with bacon bits on top. SO DELICIOUS. I hope to make it back sometime again soon! Definitely deserves restaurant of the year honors from the Oregonian.
My husband and I went to Portland from New Orleans for some good wine and good food. Le Pigeon met and exceeded our high expectations. The menu is simple yet super creative and the Chef's execution was flawless. The seating is tight but wasn't uncomfortable. We met two fabulous people across from us that only enhanced the experience. I highly suggest Le Pigeon.
