User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis restaurant deserves 5 stars! My husband & I ate here twice this weekend and would definitely return (even though it's 2 hours from home). It's got 102 sanitation grade, the waitstaff and owners are very friendly, and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. They have buffets every day except Saturday.

we stopped at the Post after our civil war reenactment on the way back to Virginia and we were blown away with the buffet. We got there just as it was ending and the waitress made sure we still had a complete selection. We couldn't get enough because everything was "down home" and fantastic! We were treated like family and as I was leaving I just had to go into the kitchen and thank the cooks for such a great meal. All the way back to Virginia all I could think of was how we could get a Hitchen Post in our town. What it all boils down tow was, a week later, I drove my wife there (1 1/2 hr drive) because I wanted to share this great dining with her. I don't know what happened with the other review, but I do know we can't wait to go back this weekend for our anniversary. april 5, 09 ken blanton york county virginia

On 5-3-08 I waited an hour and 30 minutes for my food. With a bill of $43.00 the food was not worth it. Ordered steak and shrimp. The shrimp was cold and the taste was terrible. I was very unpleased with the service. Everyone in the restaurant waited as long as I did. What made it worse the owners walked out with there plates and started eating even with people waiting an hour and 30 minutes for there food. Will never eat there again. Very unpleased. In todayâs world $43.00 is hard earned money and to waste it on a terrible dinner is just crazy.
