Dakota's Roadhouse

I ate at Dakotas Roadhouse for the first time today.
Our friends suggest we eat there for dinner. There was a moderate wait, but after the pleasure of dining there it was well worth the minimal minutes we spent in the lobby. Once we were seated at our table, our waitress upon immediate arrival asked if we had visited a dakotas before. Since we were first time guests she wonderfully walked us through the entire menu, and suggested the best items, and informed us of the Summer BBQ menu, and the feature for the day. I ordered the new york strip, and my husband had the prime rib. Our steaks were 100% cooked to perfection. I was blown away by the service this establishment offers. It was 5 star service without the 5 star price. This business surely has it together as far as exceeding customer needs, combined with EXCELLENT service. I will absolutely contiue to dine there as often as possible. I full heartedly suggest this establishment to any person who is wanting to enjoy a wonderful meal, with great customer satisfaction!!!

I had eaten there twice before when it first opened and I wouldn't have given it two stars. We tried again today and was very pleasantly surprised. My husband loves ribs and we often travel 60+ miles for them. The ribs were just right. As senior citizens we often can't tolerate hot sauce but the bar-b-que sauce was a mild honey and he ate a full rack. I asked that my steak be rare but not bleeding or cold. Again it was perfect, a pink center with a crisp browning. We had both agreed if it wasn't good that three strikes and you're out. Instead we had more than we could eat, a very tastie dinner, a lovely server (this was one of the reasons we didn't want to go back as the service before was awful. They even forgot to bring our dinner!) There are now two resturants in Hillsboro that we will patronize. Our complements to the chef for without a good cook the rest doesn't matter.

The food is dry and below average. Today our waitress threw our wings away that we wanted to keep and when we asked for them to be replaced, I got the wings back from the garbage can. This place is a waist of money. Go somewhere that your money is well spent. This is not the first bad encounter. The only thing good is the hamburgers. I will probably go to McDonalds for that now. Good luck with the garbage food.
