User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsOverpriced, crowded with very rude employees. But the worst part is the poor pets that are there. I purchased a cat from there, and it seemed fine. After one day of having it here, it started to become very sick. It ended up having feline upper respiratory infection. They had just spayed the cat the day of giving her to me, and she was in no shape to be around other cats OR adopted. She made my other cat sicker than she was, and my cat has NEVER been sick. I thought I was going to lose her. It was an emotional wreck. I ended up taking her back, and sadly I couldn't afford the hefty vet's bill so I got a different cat. Luckily he is healthy. I don't wish that upon another person.

PetSmart does not adopt out animals. They are brought in by local humane societies that just so happen to subcontract out through PetSmart. The fact that your cat was adopted to you ill is not the fault of the PetSmart employees...it is the fault of the dishonest adoption society. If you copare PetSmart's prices with other SPECIALTY pet shops (Wal-Mart is not considered a specialty shop) then they have fair prices. You probably encountered a "rude" employee because you were being rude to them, given your mind-set in this post. I also find it hard to believe that they adopted the cat to you the day that it was spayed, given all local humane societies will make you wait 3 days after a spay or neuter before they will adopt out the pet. I do not shop at the Terre Haute store, but I have been to 3 other locations and all have been clean with very knowledgeable and helpful employees.
