When you file court papers in DC, you have to give the name of a specific person who will serve the process. We called these guys and listed the names the told us to use--but for some reason, they sent a different person to serve the papers. This means that the service was "questionable" in legal parlance, so I had to spend a good bit of my time calling these guys repeatedly (not once did they call us proactively to try and resolve the issue after we pointed it out) to get the right person to reserve the papers. Every time I talked to them about it, they made it seem like they were doing me some big favor by correcting their own mistake.
According to these guys, one of the addresses we gave them for serving the papers was invalid, so they charged me again to go to a different location (never was this explained when we hired them--they said it was a flat fee for the person). When we finally got to court and the defendant who we had served listed his address, he actually used the one that the servers told us was invalid. Granted the guy we had served wasn't entirely honest--but I really got the impression the servers were just trying to find some other way to charge me extra money.
Finally, after they screwed up with questionable service procedures and who knows what about the address, they invoiced me every 5 days to pay them. Just a bit excessive, considering they were billing me before they had even done the job the right way.
After reading the other reviews I wanted to like these guys, but I can't honestly give more than 2 stars. I would not recommend them.-

They are AMAZING!!!: I couldn't have asked for better service. While my situation was not easy for me, the gentlemen at Same Day Process Service took a load off of my shoulders. From the moment I walked in their office I instantly had peace of mind, and knew that everything was going to get better from that moment. Tony and Brandon Snesko went above and beyond their duties. They were always in contact with me, and they performed their services with the utmost professionalism. They did each and every thing they said they would do. I will not hesitate to call them again. I appreciate them so much that saying thank you just does not seem like it's enough. But I thank Tony and Brandon from every inch of my heart.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsEXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!: This was my first time having to use a process service and after searching the internet found Same Day Process Service. I thought the website was quite informative and user friendly. Truly the name says it all...Same Day! I dropped off my documents on a Wednesday evening and the 1st attempt was made that same evening! Tony was in contact with me re the progress as well as once the documents had been served.
I would recommend Same Day Process Service to anyone...they put the "Service" in Customer Service!!!
Thanks for everything and putting my mind at ease.

We value feedback shared by our client's good or bad but we also feel that the whole truth is not being stated by this particular review. The main issue being discussed in this review is that a process server not listed with the court served the legal documents. This is not at question. We have over 10 process servers and we recently hired an additional one that was mistakenly not included in the approval form to the court. Understandably, mistakes in our business can never be tolerated and once we heard that this service was deemed "questionable" we immediately re-sent the service out with another process server who served the defendant. A defendant that was elusive (which we take pride in getting served) and than immediately went down to the court and filed the affidavit of service. The affidavit was never questioned and I'm assured the case was won. In terms of cost it is always explained to our client's that we charge per address and several trips were made in this particular case in order to perfect personal service at the subject's place of employment. After the residence address was deemed to be bad we normally request additional funds to continue with service but knowing that the court date was approaching we went ahead and tried the business address. Pre-payment is a new thing for Same Day as we used trust anyone and everyone that they would pay for services rendered but we have been burned so many times that we had to discontinue this practice. We hope that Jessica never has another court case in her life but if she does we would be more than happy to assist her in anyway and I hope she would trust us to get it done fast but also to get it done right.
