wow, I ate there once and never went back..waited for over a hour for our food. Because big will didn't see our order..and only got served then because we asked the waitress finally what is taking so long...had the cat fish and okra..so greasy, my friend ordered a dish with gravey ...taste like paste...we both like to cook and trust me we know what tastes right and what does not...wonder why there not in business....
Lets start with the Positives.
The food is excellent and on Par with the best resturants in New Orleans. No lie. Ive been to New Orleans soley to eat. Especially good are Big Wills Gumbo, and Jambalya. Im still working on his prodigious menu.
Negatives:
He has his family as staff, which while some may appreciate the casual atmosphere of the place causes wait delays and comical service. Additionaly his menu is several pages long, and if you a fan of Ramseys kitchen Nightmares you know the drawbacks of a single cook attempting so many dishes. Additionaly, I have some concern as to cleanliness of the resturant. My kids picking trash off the floor, but I guess that can happen. an additional negative is the resturants location, in the old la nitas site..definetly in the poorer side of Atwater, and a run down building. Not a big problem but worth mentioning.
With a resturant manager and professional staff this could be the best resturant in Merced...and likely the entire central valley.
Simply the Best...: I had the unique pleasure of experiencing the most mouth-watering food this side of Cajun heaven. Everything is A-1. Blackened Chicken or Steak; Ribs; Catfish; Gumbo; even Alligator (don't knock it if you haven't tried it). The sides are numerous and great. The people are friendly and make everyone feel right at home. BIg Will is a mountain of a man with a mountain of talent when it comes to down home southern cookin'. The prices are very reasonable. A meat for two, including drinks and tip is about $35. Well worth it...
Tell 'em Bill sent you.

Yeah, because New Orleans is the cleanest place in the world right?...come on give the people a break it's Atwater not the Creole' district in New Orleans...and as far as your comment, "The Poorer side of Atwater", Show me the "Rich side of Atwater",... Its Atwater, it's not a RICH community.
