In the little town of Atwater, Ca we have two family owned restraunts that i know of. One has excellent service and awesome food and the other has very poor service and has disgusting grease food. If you ever are in town out here visit Joy of the south, cozy atmosphere the food is freaking addictive.. get the tri-tip family dinner (that homeade bbq sauce is the best i have ever had in my life!) also get the gumbo! The food here is just so good, even though your full you just can't stop eating its so good. But please never go to Razzonelis (that is the nightmare of a place here in town) if they dont recognize you they will just about ignore you and make you wait 30 minutes just to give you your beverage even if they dont have but two more customers. But Joy of the south will treat you like family, their sweet tea is the best. I love that place!
Ok i will be real and fair. If you ever been to new orleans and ate the food there or the south dont eat at this place! it will ruin all that you enjoyed there. I got red beans and rice. they had no flovor and the beand was undercooked. after complaining to the owner and his wife over the phone becauce i got my order to go. i found out the cook went to cooking school and not a southern cook. i got a oyster sandwich and it was the worst i ever had they was cooked in a flour something not in cornmeal like neworleans very bad. i will never eat there again and hope all read the other person who rated them very low they were being truthful. i would like you to save your money. i was warned about this place and went anyway because i wqas being lazy and did not cook that day. a loss and about 20 something dollars. most people think the food is good they have not had the real thing!
wow, I ate there once and never went back..waited for over a hour for our food. Because big will didn't see our order..and only got served then because we asked the waitress finally what is taking so long...had the cat fish and okra..so greasy, my friend ordered a dish with gravey ...taste like paste...we both like to cook and trust me we know what tastes right and what does not...wonder why there not in business....

Uh, you are reviewing Joy of the South, so why mention Rizzonelli's in the post? That is pointless. I've lived in Atwater for my entire life, almost 26 years, and have never heard of Joy of the South, so apparently it can't be all that great.
By the way, learn how to spell Rizzonelli's name, I mean if it's so important for you to dog them, at least spell their name right.
