Sameem's is a beautiful Afghan restaurant in the heart of the South Grand business district in the Tower Grove South neighborhood. The food is authentic and fresh, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The inviting atmosphere is accented by Afghan art on the walls. The wonderfully flavorful menu items include several vegetarian and vegan friendly options with Mediterranean and Indian inspirations. Check out the highly acclaimed Afghan plates including the beriani and the sambosa. Enjoy ordering from the menu or taking part in the lunch buffet. - Cathryn D. Blue

I visited Sameems for the first time tonight. What an excellent experience. I had the sambosa (potato and scallions wrapped in a dumpling) as an appetizer, and the spicy chuttney sauce that topped it was perfect. For dinner I had the Butter Chicken (tender chicken doused in butter, garlic, curry, and tomato sauce). That was excellent as well. I will definitely return soon! What great service as well, the manager gave us the appetizer for free for the dinner taking so long....the kicker is that we never complained! The whole meal took only like 8 minutes to get. Great service!
The restaurant is situated in one of the best locations in St.Louis. Food is average and the portions are small and since the owner does the waiting and serving themselves, the food came to our table slightly cold. The much touted authentic green tea from Afghanistan was actually a 'Bigelow' tea bag and tasteless. the decor is nice but the lighting is really dim. The cups and saucers weren't too clean either. But all that was made up for by the owners courtesy.
