If you are in the area and haven't tried The Wok, you are definitely missing out. The food is absolutely amazing. It's owned by the same family as the old Mandarin Wok (when it used to be good ages ago). The story is too long to fit into 4000 characters- they moved to Charleston, retired, un-retired, moved to Mahomet, opened this place. They are so popular they had people waiting for them to open their doors the very first day and don't even need to advertise. [In fact they do everything they can to stay under the radar as even with their current customers they're swamped.]
Don't go there expecting fancy Chinese decor- go there expecting food you'll crave months after you ate it.
My suggestion- don't go in for the usual fair- ask Tina what is good, she'll never steer you wrong!
Favorites are: Spicy Basil Chicken (amazing), Salted Garlic Green Beans, Hot Ginger Fish - all are excellent.
Go there- you will thank me for it!
One of my most favorite restaurant in Champaign-Urbana area. As other reviewer said, this restaurant doesn't look like a very nice restaurant, however, the food is incredible. Real authentic chinese/taiwanese food.
My family loves Crispy Tofu which is the best tofu dish in the states. And the people work here are nice, too. Highly recommended
Best in 100 miles: The food is superb here. Don't be fooled by the fast food decor. You can get authentic Chinese banquet here.
