DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS BUSINESS: I called Northside Tire & Auto Repair and told them I ha a 1988 Honda Accord DX and I needed a clutch and pressure plate put in and the mechanic had told me once before that it would cost $200 to put it in if I purchased the part and I did. They picked up the car, not on the day they said they would, the next day and I recieved a call from the mechanic saying I needed a valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and rear main seal and I bought it and when they call me to tell me the car was ready, they told me the car needed brakes. When I went to pick up the car,it did not have any brake pads on the passengers front side and my husband drove the car home and when I drove the car at a later date, it is straining gears, leaking oil, smoking, making a grinding noise from under the car. They never put the oil pan gasket on. I dislike this business because they did not follow protocol and where not professional because I know for a fact that brake pads was on both sides of my car because I washed the tires and the whole car before it was taken to them. The cost of my car was $400 plus $25 for towing. When I got it out of the shop I did not drive it every day. I only neede the car to drive back and forth to work. When I call and tell them what has happened to the car, I know they are going to say, you should have brought us the car back sooner. Also the speed limit in Danville VA in the city limits is 25 mph to 45 mph and I never drover it over 50 mph and now , like I said before the car is not getting the gears properly, straining, smoking and making a lot of noise. The side of the car that was worked on pertaining to the clutch and pressure plate, there were no brake pads and the drivers said had brake pads. I am going to complain to this business because we had a problem with them with my husbands car and we let it go, but I am not letting this go unattended. In spite of my husbands car, I still went to this business and after the episode with my car I will never go to this business to have a tire stem out in, nor will I recommend anyone to this business.
