OWNER'S RESPONSE TO FOLLOWING REVIEW by "christi g"
Upon our initial consultation, I was never told that these 2 dogs would have a very hard time coming out of their crate for a walk. We agreed that we would do a trial run to see if it was possible to walk them. In their review below, the client used the phrase "three non-walk days" implying that I did NOT go to their home. I DID go for each of our agreed upon 3 days of service but despite much encouragment and extra coaxing, I just could not get these 2 pups to come out of their crate at all. Through the course of our trial run, I stayed in daily contact with the client via phone calls, email and texting, voicing my concern that I would not be able to provide them with service as their dogs would not come out of their crate. I can imagine this frustrated the client. I'm sure all they wanted was for their dogs to have a good walk. That is all I wanted too, unfortunately, this was impossible. With less than a day's notice, I agreed to meet the client on the 2nd day of service at a specific time so we could walk the dogs together. Despite this effort, they still wouldn't come out of their crate. On the 3rd and final day of our trial, I left a nice note (not "tossed off") and made a phone call to them to explain that I wished this would work, but the dogs were unwalkable. The client was given ample notice and professionalism. Again, I understand the client's frustrations, but I think they should be directed at the unfortunate situation instead of my service as I truly did everything I could to provide them with the service they needed. It simply wasn't possible based soley on their dogs' resistance.
After three non-walk days because our two dogs needed some extra adjustment help from the walker to leave their crate, we were dropped by this service with a tossed off NOTE from Mindy (the owner) suggesting that we "find a smaller company." I was really disappointed by the unprofessional behavior -- I'd have expected a call or even an email, and some notice so we could find another walker.
Overall the business seems organized, but is not for anyone whose dog needs extra attention, time, or care. We're returning to our previous walker, who is more expensive than Mailman's -- we decided that we're willing to pay the premium for a service that we can count on to be there for our boys.
FOLLOW UP: I saw that Mindy wrote a response, just wanted to clarify, she *did* show up but we *did not* get any kind of call/email/text that notified us besides the note. As a tip for anyone having this crate situation, our new (actually, original) dog walker suggested that we use baby gates instead of the crate to keep the dogs in their designated space during the day, and there haven't been any issues since with the walks.

Outstanding work! Dependable, friendly, great with our dog Clio, and always going the extra mile (to refill the water dish, clean up any trouble Clio may cause, take the last minute call). The staff is always sure to keep us updated on everything that happens and our pup always returns happy and tired. I would (and have) recommend this group to friends.
