this little restaurant is a few miles off the highway, but it is worth the detour! We had the pizza-it was handmade and delicious! It is worth waiting for! I will definately go back to try the other menu items.

I've lived in Campo for three years now, and just began reaching out and going to local restaurants and businesses. I was first excited to slip into the quasi-retro themed diner and grab some grub. But it came with a few different prices. One being the expensive menu, and the second being some serious attitude. Our waitress didn't really seem to be that jazzed about serving us in the slightest. With a rather annoyed tone, lack of eye contact, and all over unpleasant demeanor, she took our order. Sadly it made the atmosphere a bit unwelcoming, but the food more than made up for it. The food, I had was great. A 1/2 pound mushroom cheese burger with fries. It was a perfectly done burger, and amazing fries. That may be the only real good thing in my review.

My second experience would be making a call-in order. Again, the lady on the phone seemed less than happy to deal with her customers. The same attitude filled tone as if I was wasting her time, and a nice loud BANG of her hanging up before I could finish my sentence when telling her thank you.

Perhaps we can chalk this up to a few bad days. But either way, I have found myself greatly enamored with the food, and wont let some sass get in my way!

My fiance and I took a nice little backcountry drive this afternoon and specifically stopped off at the Campo Diner. Although we had to wait a while for the food, boy, was it worth it. I had the 1/4 lb. cheeseburger with fries and my babe had the fish and chips. Both were terrific and I mean yummy. We finished lunch off with a home-made banana cream pie which was delicious. The service was slow, but its a relaxed, no-rush kind of atmosphere. Place is a bit dingy and some tables should have been bused quicker, but we came for the food and it did not disappoint. We will definately be going back there. We highly recommend this place.
