I went to the Cardinals vs. The Pirates on 6-2-08 and the stadium itself was fine but the food was horrible. I paid 6.75 for a pretzil & cheese and the pretzil was one of the hardest prezils i have ever tried eating. Also I went to get a beer and they carded me which was fine, but this lady that obviously didnt know anything looked at my Nebraska drivers liscense and told me that they couldnt take it. I thought it was rediculous, just because I was visiting I couldnt have a beer at a ball game? I asked to talk to the guy in charge. He came out and asked her why wouldnt we take this it is a liscense? So I waited ten minitues for a beer and pretzil that was not worth the 16.50 that I paid for both of them. All in all the stadium was great but I think they need smarter newer help, maybe some that graduated high school for starters. Since there is no complaint section on the web site I figured I would let you all know on here.
Awesome...: Love the place...
It's really nothing all that special: They should have spent the money and renovated the old Busch Stadium. I know they were trying to make it blend with downtown St. Louis and have more of an open air appearance like some of the other newer ball parks, but the new Busch Stadium just doesn't seem to do much for me. My wife and I have been there twice this year. For one thing, there are not enough bathrooms. I don't remember ever having to stand in line to use the bathroom at the old Busch Stadium. At least not for an entire inning. Secondly, we were there in October and it didn't seem like the stadium was complete yet. There were door jams leaning up against the wall and there were a lot of leaks in the stairwells. Plus, there are less seats in the new stadium, making it hard for non-season ticket holding fans to get tickets. Especially during the playoffs. I will say, I have walked around the entire stadium and it does not appear that there are any bad seats. My wife and I attended a playoff game and sat in section 361, and could see the entire ballpark except the extreme left field corner. Unlike old Busch were if you were in the upper deck you had a hard time seeing parts of the field. Lastly, I will say it's better than Minutemade park in Houston. I attened a game there a few years ago just after it opened as Enron Field to see the Cardinals take on the Astros. That field has a lot of weird seating angles.
