Its a nice venue but is very over-crowded for small kids group 3-7 year olds. During the 30 min. of instruction(once a week), a lot of that time is spent threatening the kids with a timeout (for cutting up) and sitting around in a circle getting their kid stick-on stickers. Not much instruction in my opinion. They tout an award they won for Denver's "Best of the Best" in 2007, but I can only comment on whats going on right now! By the way they only take auto debits from your bank account or charge you more for credit cards. (careful) They make it hard to quit once you start because if you miss the 30 day notice, they will hit your account for second month. (even if you are not going anymore) Their website says "NO CONTRACTS" Well, it looks and feels like a contract to me. I'm guessing that they will only accept notices one day per month?? No previous mention of this!!! Nevertheless in my opinion, if you practice these measures to make a buck you must be desperate. Every potential customer should be aware of this tactic! I felt like I was being taken advantage of and am really shocked by the treatment I received.

My name is Master Scott Carroll and I am the owner. I am responding to the "Boss." We are sorry you are unhappy. I wish you could have spoken with me personally to correct any problem you may have had. I am sorry it has to be on a public forum, but let me respond to your concerns. First, we have been Voted #1 for 4 years in a row. We are blessed to have that honor. We offer multiple classes that your child can attend. Each parent decides how often they want their children to come. 1 day a week is the minimum. We have 1 instructor for every 5-7 students. We can offer your child private training if you feel that the ratio is not individualized enough. We do not offer contracts. There is a 30 day notice on any cancellations which is personally reviewed with each client and agreed upon during enrollment. That is very fair considering a majority of clubs will require a 60 or 90 day notice. Other schools have a 1-3 year contract that you would still be paying for!! It is certainly your choice whether to use a credit card or not. The only way we can accept a cc is through the same billing company and they charge us more, so therefore we charge an extra $5. Again, that is simply an option for those that do not want automatic debit from checking. For us to be compared to a contract is simply not true. Children will learn to be disciplined and structured. Our classes are high energy and revolve around martial arts related activities. We have to keep safety and structure first to protect your child. We want every child to learn and have fun, but we would not want to see your child injured because of lack of discipline. We invite anyone to come and watch a class to see for yourself. As far as sitting around in a circle, we take the last 5 minutes of class and devote it to going over our 6 Traning Principles: Be Patient, Be Polite, Be Alert, Be Brave, Do Your Best, Respect Yourself and Others. Children will earn stickers and learn valuble lessons in this short amount of time. By the way, cancellations can be made at anytime. I welcome anyone to personally contact me with any questions or concerns at 303-688-5051 or email me at scott@castlerockmartialarts.com
Spoke with the owner prior to my review here and he said he took care of an issue I had with his billing company and there would be no problem. WRONG!!! They hit my account once again for a second month after they were given 30 days notice of cancellation. Mr. Carrol was noticed in person by me 30 days in advance of cancellation and I fully paid for that month. For some odd reason he told his billing company that notice was insufficient and charged me for another month--???. Don't be fooled by their comments. They like to play games. - Nevertheless, requiring a 30 day notice to cancel is a "month to month" contract!!!! and they plaster NO CONTRACTS all over their website. Earth to Castle Rock Martial Arts - You give a service, you earn your fee, if this service is discontinued then you shouldn't be trying to squeeze more money from people. People have to trust you with their bank accounts!!!!! You lost my trust after your behavior and the public should fully understand what they are in for should they choose to do business with Castle Rock Marshall Arts.
This is Cheryl with CRMA: Not sure why you are choosing to remain anonymous, but we feel we know who you are since other people have had no problem cancelling and were very happy with our classes. There is a very big difference between a "contract" and an "agreement." We offer "agreements" and it's obvious you haven't contacted other martial arts schools to see the difference. It's very rare to find a school that doesn't offer a contract. Please also know you can be held responsible for spreading false statements that could hurt one's reputation. I see a lot of poor reviews from you about other businesses and you need to be informed what free speech is and what libel is. What you are saying about us is not accurate. How have other people who have wanted to cancel not had any problems?
