About:	Beauty Bar takes its name from the '60s hair salon knick-knacks that come into play within each of its dozen or so locations, but the moniker might as well refer to the chain's simple methodology for success. By cultivating a particularly girlish (and thus locally rare) atmosphere, it manages to bring in the prettiest twenty-somethings in town, who in turn bring in everyone else to the extent that, by the end of the night, the place is packed in a way rarely seen elsewhere in Austin. When the resident DJ isn't spinning early Michael Jackson, music comes care of some of the city's more up-and-coming rock bands.
