My husband and I went to Papa Perez after hearing good reviews from friends and co-workers.
I wish I knew what drugs they were on when they tried Papa Perez, because we were far from impressed.
We were blessed with an inattentive and inept waiter who kept forgetting tiny things, such as our order of queso. When we inquired about the queso, he said the cooks were in the process of making some, but when we received the queso, the top was hard and cold, like it had been sitting out the counter for a while.
When we finally received our food, my husband's beef quesadilla was cold and my chicken quesadilla was horrible. The chicken was either extremely stringy or burnt. The rice was bland and the beans tasted undercooked.
What made want to vomit, though, was the tortilla holders. I noticed a waitress was putting dirty dishes in a tub, but would put the tortilla holders in a different pile. As dinner progressed, I noticed that the dirty tortilla holders were reused.
NASTY.
When we checked out, the cashier asked how the meal was and my husband let him know (politely) how bad it was. A woman (the owner's wife?) shot nasty looks at my husband the entire time he complained about the food. There was no offer to make things right with the meal.
We will not be returning.
AWWWEEESOMMMMME FOOD! I always get the gorditas. Everything I've had is good! The hours are weird so I would call ahead of time.
When I went to papa perez I was under the impression that the food was going to be "authentic mexican food," but once I received my meal I realized that this was an americanized version of mexican food. I ordered something quite simple-fajita quesadillas. How hard is it to make that? Well the fajitas used tasted like the ones you just heat up and serve. I also ordered charro beans and when I did receive them they were alittle undercooked. Now being a mexican myself I know how to make charro beans and I know how they are suppose to taste. I spoke to the "manager" and she got an attitude with me, and began to argue with me that the food is cooked correctly. What happened to the customer is ALWAYS right?? I paid for my meal and left but I can guarantee that I will NEVER go back. For better service or REAL mexican food you should just go to Los Nortenos or to Coco Loco.
