Back to the Garden!!: Woodstock, a place in our history and now a place to find peace in music, once again! Going "back to the garden" has been a serene experience for me. The grounds are fabulous, the additional amenities (buildings, stage, landscaping) are not only tasteful, but so fitting to the overall atmosphere. The concerts have been more than wonderful. My thanks and applause to Alan Gerry for what he has done here. While the inaugaral year has been exciting and fullfilling, I expect that this is a "work in progress" and I look forward to next year and whatever it will bring. If you live close by, and even if you dont...come and soak in the "vibes". You will not be disappointed.

The museum contained exhibits that were way too basic to add any insight and make the trip worthwhile. I wanted to garner a sense of what Woodstock was like, but it was not possible to do so at this museum. The exhibits on the 60s were especially simplistic; I could learn that Kennedy was shot and man landed on the moon during this turbulent decade. The museum is definitely geared toward children who have no idea what the word "hippie" means or who Janis Joplin was. Additionally, the signs on the grounds that indicate that there is to be no smoking, no loud music, and no alcoholic beverages are sure a buzz kill to free love, tuning out, and being free. You will have a better feeling of what Woodstock was like by lighting up and watching the original documentary in the comfort of your own home. Avoid this tourist trap.
