I am a local breeder of ball pythons, and Too Many Feathers is the only pet store in town that I feel comfortable selling my babies to. They DO know what they are doing, and showed ME how to properly probe a snake when I was having difficulty doing so (we usually sex our babies by popping). I recommend them wholeheartedly. (We also purchased most of our rats from them, and have had no serious problems--surviveability of rats is at least as good as those from Petsmart, and certainly none of our animals have ever become ill or died from eating them).
I was once one of the reptile distributors for this establishment. The man who owned the place was and probably still is ignorant when it comes to reptiles. He has no idea what he is doing when it comes to properly sexing, whether manually or probing, feeding, living conditions, infections, respiratory, or even general maintenance and care. Also, instead of hiring someone who does know, he lets his ignorant wife and toothless daughter help run the joint. This place is definitely not even worth considering. Thank You.

The writer of this comment was the delivery person for a reptile distributor. A little over a year ago when delivering to our store he personally purchased some snakes for $300 and paid for them with a check that bounced twice. When pressed about payment, he opted to try to return the snakes claiming they were not sexed correctly. We rechecked one and still the probe would not go in very deep, indicating a female snake. He took the probe and forced it deeper into the snake which caused tearing. He was then told we would not accept back the animals, since we would not be able to sell the injured one and now were unsure of what else may have happened to them in the month he had them in his care.
Writing a bad check in Nebraska is a criminal offense, but we opted not to file charges. Instead we took what was owed us off of what we owed his employer and let them sort it out. This supplier told us that they no longer employed the individual, but since they are based in Kansas City, we do not know for sure, only that they have been to our store several times since with a different person delivering.
The timing of this verbal assault is likely because we set up at a Kansas City Reptile show about that time. No doubt he saw us there and got angry because we seemed to be doing just fine without his âexpertâ opinions.
In closing I recommend that Tyler be careful about who he calls ignorant when he doesnât have his own facts straight. A man does not own Too Many Feathers; it is a sole proprietorship in my name. My husband takes a very active role in its management, but is not the owner. Also though I would love to take credit for bringing my manager into this world, she is no relation to either my husband or myself, just a very knowledgeable young lady who shares our passion for the critters.

This is just dumb, even feeding sick rodents to a snake won't hurt it. There's no way a rodent could kill a snake unless you left it alone and it was bit, or you fed it something too big and it hurt it's insides.
Don't blame the store because you have no idea what you're talking about.

i agree with i salute, it wasnt their rodents that killed your snake, it had to have been your own fault. And as a side note, take a spelling class
