Unless you are full of margaritas or your drink of choice, DON'T go!
SALTY is not the best description and lack of flaver.
Need a taco fix or just need to get out of the burbs for a few hours? All you can eat tacos on Tuesday. Great local brews on tap and cute waitresses too. Pleasant crowd. Go before 6pm and check out Planters, the coolest spice shop in KC, just across the street.
Improved -Not Bad at all. Amazing Fried Ice Cream.: I was impressed with the "Puffy Tacos" and the Mild Salsa. Although I'm usually really into hotter types of salsa, Dos Hombres's hot salsa just wasn't that good. It came out warm and relatively thin compared to the mild, which was thick and chunky, and the hot tasted like some sort of tomato pasted base...not a big fan of their hot salsa. Another thing Dos Hombres doesnt excel well at is their side dishes. Both the rice and refried beans lack flavor and would be rated at the bottom of my list out of any Mexican Restaurant in KC. But thier ample Entree flavor and size made up for the poor side dish taste.
After reading a review here, we had to try the Fried Ice Cream...It was amazing. Enough for 2 people. Experience it for yourself...too much to goodness to describe. The drink list is very extensive as well. If you like the drinks at Margaritas you'll like this place as well.
Overall, not bad. Would go back again on occaison.
Went back for dinner the other night. MUCH IMPROVED over the lunch I had the other day. I ordered the BAJA combo. Very good all around. The biggest improvement over the lunch I had was in the quality of the side dishes and the seasoning of their beef. Would go back for dinner definitely.
