My family and I have been to the Farwood Bar and Grill now many times and they have been great experiences, they have always treated us with great service and good food. They have gone out of there way many times for my HUGE family to make sure we had everything we wanted, and I have to tell you with my family that is not always easy to do. We once had a party of 33 and another time 25 and each and every time Leigh Ann (the owner) made it special for us in some way. The Farwood Bar and Grill is a true Blessing for us to have so near by. If you have not been there you truly need to go you will not be disappointed...
On Feb. 21, 2009 we had a 50th anniversary party for 22 people, a pretty big crowd for a fairly small restaurant. The tables were set up beautifully, the service was great, the food also. It was all very nicely done, and we were impressed. Well done, Farwood!
On June 19, 2007 I had made reservations at your restaurant for a party of 4 for 6 pm. The other couple, from Red Bluff had arrived prior to our arriving at 5:50 pm and they were already seated. At the time we noticed that there was a good amount of patrons seated at tables and servers were on the move attempting to take care of them. We sat for a time period before a female by the name of Karen came to the table and brought us our water. She asked if we wanted a drink and my wife and I ordered a drink from the bar for each of us. She then left the table only to return about 20 minutes later, having asked another server to ask ours to return to the table. I asked about our two bar drinks and she told us that the "bartender had walked out", but she would see what she could do! About 6:20 pm still having not seen our two drinks, I caught her eye and shortly thereafter she returned to the table. I told her to cancel the two bar drinks and asked that she take our dinner order. She was very apologetic all the while chewing what appeared to be a large wad of gum. This had been going on since she first came to the table and was most noticeable as she was really working on it!
Once Karen finally took our meal order, nearly 30 minutes after our arriving, she returned to what appeared to be the area of the kitchen where servers input the data for food orders. She stood in the same area visible from where I was seated for over ten minutes and numerous times stopped other passing servers to apparently ask questions. Thereafter, she disappeared from our table for nearly our entire visit. Our salads were finally served to our table by Mary, a most pleasant and professional server. Upon finishing them, Vickie removed our empty plates from the table. While sitting awaiting dinner Karen passed by the table several times telling us that it was nearly ready and would be "here shortly"! Finally, Mary once again stopped by the table and told us that our four dinners were in the process of being prepared and shortly thereafter she and Vickie delivered our dinners, albeit nearly and hour and fifteen minutes after arriving at the restaurant! When finished eating I once again caught Karen's eye and asked for our two dinner bills, with no offer of desert! At our table she also said she was sorry, but there was nothing she could do because she was supposed to be in training, but that she had "no waitress number" and etc! Thereafter, Mary finally brought the two dinner bills to the table and was most apologetic to all four for us for the problems and told us that she had afforded us a "family discount" on both meals. We paid our bills and departed the restaurant shortly after 8 pm. I should also comment that numerous tables around us were seated after us, ate dinner and departed prior to our even finishing dinner!
There is no reason to belabor the issues regarding our forgoing visit to Farwood Bar & Grill on June 19th. Had it not been for Mary and Vickie we well could have gotten up and walked out. Two subsequent letters were written to owner/mngr. Jeanna Jackson and no response was ever received by us. We believe the letter speaks to the quality of our visit to the Farwood Bar & Grill.

Was contacted by the new owner Leigh Ann B. Oct. 7, `08 relative to our original review of 6/19/07. Our comments were discussed and she introduced herself as part of the new ownership and invited us to come back in and give it a try. Jan. 10, `09 we and another couple returned to the restaurant to give it another go, since the change of ownership. The restaurant was clean, the service and people working were cordial and professional and the food, salmon, prime rib and soup and salad were excellent, as were the alcoholic drinks from the bar. It is nice to see that a new owner has taken over a business with so much potential and truly turned it around. We would highly recommend it and they also take reservations, which many today to not. We would highly recommend it for your dining experience.
