This is what sushi should be like.
I love the fact that is you are starving, you get instant gratification.
The sushi is phenomenal, if its not rotating, you can ask to be made. Everything is very fresh. Can get pricey if you pick a couple of the expensive items.
Only negatives are, large crowds on Friday nights, and no liquor other than sake is serve.
There are 2 ways to sit down and eat:
1) Sit at the bar that has the moving conveyor belt and grab plates as they pass you by
2) sit at a table and place an order or jump and grab whatever plate you want off the conveyor belt
When you arrive the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Plates are color-coded by price ranging from $2.25 to $5.50. The worst part about the belt is none of the plates are labeled. However, feel free to ask the person next to you or the staff. When your mealâs over, a server totals up the stack of plates sitting on the bar in front of you. They also have a menu you can also order from a that includes the typical teriyaki, udon noodles, sushi and sashimi plates, and tempura dishes. (we ordered from the menu instead of grabbing plates)
I started with a bowl of Kyodaiâs miso soup ($1.50)- wasn't the best I have ever had but ti also wasnt the worst. It had the broth, seaweed and tofu. I then had a Philly Roll (3-4 pieces for $2.25) and the NY Roll- smoked salmon, asparagus, fish roe and avocado (8-10 pieces for around $8.00).
Overall it was good. It wasn't the best nor the worst- average and good prices!
PS- Parking is free (2 hours) in the Towson Commons garage (have your ticket validated)
Fun place with pretty decent sushi: The sushi itself was pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. The taste was fairly good, but the appearance of the sushi was not as good fine-tuned as other places I've been to.
Having sushi coming around on the conveyor belt was a lot of fun b/c there is a good selection that constantly comes your way. I really enjoyed that part of the place the most. Also, if the item that you want isn't on the conveyor belt at that time, you can also order from off a menu.
Overall a fun time!
