Fabulous! The best pizza in Fort Wayne, Indiana! I could eat the crust with no toppings, it is that good. Bruschetta and breadsticks are great also. Atmosphere makes the place. Get here early because when they get busy (it is small place), you will not get a table, but it is well worth the wait. If you live in Fort Wayne, or visit here, you must put this place on your schedule.
Must agree with others that the sausage roll is good, but thereâs where my compliments end.
Atmosphere is hindered by half of the staff sitting outside smoking cigarettes in front of the building, I am pretty sure they have a back door, you might want to try that for a change. This unfortunately makes the place look like a bunch of hillbillies run it.
Smoking I can understand a little bit, Perhaps there, is no back door but that seems like it would be against code or something. What I cannot see is how you can staff the building so poorly. One night when it was slower me my wife and son (who is ten years old) thought it would be great to go there and have a nice dinner. But thatâs all it was, just a thought, because we had to listen to gangster rap music from the kitchen, while listening to a white girl with corn rows cussing about how she was mad, and the manager saw no issue with it, because they just laughed.
Honestly the one incidence will make me stop seeing the place as I once did. Now I will be going to JK O'Donnell's across the street with my money rather than this place. Maybe if I wasn't there with my ten year old son while the trashy kitchen staff cussed and blared gangster rap things would seem nicer for the place, but I no longer think this place is worth going to. It's just a pizza shop with a pretty paint job.
Oops, there are two things to the positive:
Our waitress was wonderful, and brought us extra crayons. It was pretty obvious she had more of an issue with the behaviors of the kitchen staff then the manager who was sitting back there laughing at cursing rants. There was also a black guy, who was the cook, he was also very good. He actually greeted us and was very professional. The rest of the staff however were a bunch of morons trying to look like they were too cool to be in a kitchen taking our money. Times are tough people you canât think youâre too good to make pizza if you make pizza. At least youâre working.
In short, we will not be back and we tell everyone we see the same story and let them decide whether to go or not. No one seems interested after we tell them about that night. The atmosphere is what makes a place seem amazing and the atmosphere went from brilliant to crap in one meal.
Business owners in bad economic times need to exercise common sense; you got to be putting your best foot forward at all times. You canât take short cuts on the people handling the kitchen, that's the worse place for a customer to lose confidence in a restaurant.
Get a sausage roll, there or anywhere else, heck times are tough, we can make these at home. And I'm sorry but that's a steel oven back there I'm pretty sure itâs from some run of the mill place, not Italy. And if it was imported from Italy, then they should spend more money on kitchen staff with at least some sort of common sense, than ovens because I think there's some Americans at Tippmann who could have made a better oven and the money would have stayed local.
Best pizza in Fort Wayne; no other place even comes close.
