Pasche's is suprisingly good, as Rutland Vermont is not exactly where you think to get good cajun or seafood. Well, perhaps it should be!

I'd go just for the crab cakes! Check this place out! And they have more than seafood and cajun if you are not that adventurous. You will get a good meal at Pasche's. It's becoming one of my favorite places.

This ain't you Mamma's cookin'- It's better!!: I live in NJ. It's a 4 1/2 hour ride, but I know at the end of the ride is Vermont and Pasche's. The drive ends with a stop for dinner. Everything I have tasted there has been excellent, but the bread pudding for dessert is something else! The traditional New Orlean's fare is so good I have the crabcakes with a delectable crawfish sauce and jalepeno cornbread (not spicy-just perfect) for lunch and take home the Gumbo or Jambalaya for dinner. Twice I have brought the crabcakes back to NJ and served it to guests. All the selections are quite good. The ambiance is local, warm and friendly. Kathy and Francesca, the owners, keep an attentive eye on their customers and create a comfortable atmosphere. In downtown Rutland, this place is a diamond in the rough- and I hope it stays the way it is. Parking is good. Outdoor dining in the summer. Most accommodating to guests, great special every day, soups are to die for-the bisque... Give it a try. This is a special place, a hidden treasure. What an unexpected find in DTR!
