Tangerine Cafe

Well - we tried this cafe in our hunt for a really good Thai restaurant in the area. I don't think it met our bill. We got the paid thai and the coconut shrimp. The pad thai was really dry and there were no crushed peanuts on top - which we're accustom to enjoying. It was also pretty spicey, just to beware of. While there was a generous amount of shrimp in it, sad to say I didn't enjoy it. The coconut shrimp was just "ok" - similar to the type I get at harris teeter in the frozen foods section. Kind of disappointed, but we may try again.

This must be the best kept secret in Cary. I've had everything on the menu and love all of it!

What a disappointment. After reading all the great reviews I decided to give this place a try. I ordered lemon grass pork chop and pad thai. The lemon grass pork chop didn't have any lemon grass flavor and the pad thai lacked the delicate combination of flavors of sweet, sour, spicy, salty..etc. Though the food lacked flavor it was fresh. The best thing I had there was a Thai iced-tea. If you just want to fill up your tummy, this is a good place for lunch but I'd go elsewhere for better tasting Asian food.
