This is the only pub or restuarant in Albany, NY where you can truly meet just about anyone. Writers, politicians from all levels of government, neighborhood legends, college groups and historians. The chef is a master of the menu tweeking for the regulars. (Of which I've become one.)
While working my way through the new menu, I keep coming back to the burgers which are the best! Try the black and blue...interesting blend.
While the food and drinks are superior in this hideaway, the staff is also a draw. Jess beams a smile across the bar and keeps the hospitality coming even on the busiest of nights, Dave, chats it up or grumbles...depending on the evening. (Either way, it's entertaining). Tony, oh, Tony...king of the drink and master host.
This is wonderful neighborhood restaurant and pub with great hospitality and great food. Lunch and Dinner are served every day except Sunday.

Like others, my opinion has changed drastically within the last year. See, here (http://www.yelp.com/biz/pinto-and-hobbs-tavern-albany) and here (http://albanycitizenone.blogspot.com/) (I'm sure there are more.) At any rate, the locals have been disappointed time and time again and are going so far as to renew trust in Elda. I haven't ordered any food from P&H, except a burger, in the last six months and I've been over charged consistently. At first it was only the manager and then the trickle down effect began with Tony admitting "an error" had occurred and poor Amanda saying...she's making us do it. Unbelievable. The interesting folks have all be run off and I'm sure the politicos will figure it out soon. Good thing for P&H there...they barely look at the bill before paying. I just gotta believe in Karma.
