I danced under the instruction of Roger for about 2 years in Ithaca. I had always had the drive and passion to dance, but never quite learned how.
Frankly, I was terrible at first, but he was amazing. He would dismiss my apologies and missteps (although I noticed after I arrived and stepped on his feet so much, he switched to hard-toed shoes, and as I got better he went back to the softer dance shoes), and guided me through different styles and variations of steps and music.
Of all the other dance teachers I have had before and since, I would have to say he was the best. He knew his stuff inside and out (and even more!), cared about his students, and loved nothing more than to dance and have fun doing it.
Mr. Christian is a character, I will give him that, and he is one of the best bets for an interesting experience getting into the world of Latin, ballroom, and swing dancing. Enjoy. ^^

Excellent Latin Dance Instructor: During February 2007 I took some private Latin dance lessons from Mr. Christian while on location work assignment in Ithaca, New York for my company, and WOW.

I have been taking Latin dance lessons for the past ten years in major cities world wide from top ranked Latin dance instructors. I can afford the best. IE Eddie Torres in NYC. In comparison there is very little diffrences between world class Latin dance instructors and Mr. Christian except for these two points.

One. Mr. Christian teaches in a smaller market, Ithaca, New York.

Two. He has a greater range of styles - some of which is largely forgotten even in Havana - going back to 1930s to 1950s.

When I was in Havana I saw old films on Latin dance, and noted in taking lessons with Mr. Christian the authenticity of his dance character and Latin dance stylings. Not even New York City can compared with this.

I saw his listing on Yahoo, and was disappointed on the lack of responsiable reviews and hope this review will help out. Mr. Christian is dedicated, passionate in his ideals, and way too humble to be in the dance business.

Finally a Professional School: I never knew that there was a pedagogy behind social dances, and that you can obtain dance degrees in the social dances. Moreover, with the interrealtionship between dances and the histories provided in taking dance lessons can also provide another portal to the historical past. Its places and traditions which emerged are then appreciated with a taste of their experiences so long ago past away.

What fun and an education no one should miss either.
