Expressions Academy of Dance

Love this studio! Love these instructors! My daughters are thriving here! Can't say enough good things about Expressions Academy of Dance. If you like competing in dance, check out their dance teams! They won two "Judges Choice" awards and "Platinum Overall" awards.

I am so impressed with how much my granddaughter has learned since switching to this studio. Although she has taken ballet for the past three years, it is now clear that the time she spent at her former dance studio was just a waste of time... not to mention money. She has learned more in the past year at Expressions Academy of Dance then in the first two years combined. I am very impressed with the quality and professionalism of the staff in their instruction and ability to produce such a high-quality production. Of all the dance recitals I have been to over the years (I have 11 grandchildren, in three states) this was by far the most entertaining and an incredible display of skill and talent. The dancers performed like true professionals! I know her parents are very proud of her and could not be happier at the studio! I don't know who left the previous review, but obviously the person is insane.

No, just a normal person who loves Expressions!

A friend’s stepdaughter attends this studio. For two recitals in a row they have had the older girls do a dance routine from the Broadway play "Chicago", which is hardly suitable material for young girls. Both times, the girls dressed like sluts and danced very suggestively. There were a couple additional routines that were just a boy short of a Paris Hilton sex tape. The owner has informed my friend that these routines are very popular and she has no desire to stop them. Why should conservative families with morals choose to expose their entire family to such garbage? As for the owners of the Expressions Academy of Dance, they should be ashamed of themselves. This is exactly the sort of thing that encourages child exploitation. Has no one there heard of JonBenet Ramsey?

I agree wholeheartedly with Advocate. However, the owners must have had enough complaints that they cleaned up the most recent recital - it's not NEARLY as offensive as the last couple. Let's see if it lasts, though...

First, it appears that YOU do not have any children with this studio. Your comments indicate that it is your friend with a stepdaughter at this studio. If that is the case, and your friend is not happy there, why wouldn't she just pull her out of the program? Your comments just don't make any sense to me. You stated that you continue to go to each recital... time after time... when you clearly find some of the routines offensive. Again, this does not make sense! It sounds to me like "your friend" is probably a bitter stepmother who does not have control over where the girl takes dance lessons. It sounds like she is just very bitter toward the actual mother, who is clearly the one who decides where her daughter will take dance. I feel very sorry for the father of this girl, as he surely must feel the brunt of this bitterness. Another point in your comment is that you said the "older" girls danced in the broadway musical routine, but then you said it is hardly suitable for "younger" girls. As for your comments about their costumes... You are completely off your rocker! I have been with this studio since their very first year and have NEVER seen any revealing or suggestive costumes or choreography.... NEVER, NEVER, NEVER! Unlike you and "your friend", I DO have daughters with this studio. This studio, its owners and instructors are very professional and you clearly don't know what you are talking about. I'm really starting to think you are just a complete and utter crack-pot or perhaps a jealous competitor.
