We won't EVER go back!!! We are locals & have on occassion eaten there. A few times we have been able just to go and be seated right away. But the last couple of times we were told unless we had reservations we couldn't eat there. So today early we decided we wanted to go eat there & called in advance & made reservations. Well, needless to say when we got there & told them we had reservations, they showed us 2 crappy tables they we could choose from. When there was other empty tables also available. We told them we HAD made reservations & didn't want the crappy tables & told them they must not need the business & we knew others & would spread the word. We weren't even given the option of waiting a bit for a better table to open up. When asked why we had to make reservations we were told we needed to specify what table we wanted if we wanted better table. That was a first since the times before we were just told we needed to make reservations. Guess they don't need the business. VERY RUDE business people!!!!!!! Must be nice to pick & choose who eats at your place. This place is not worth it! Won't ever go back!
Four of us went there this past week. The service was fast and the food was excellent. Jambalaya was was wonderful, the etouffe rich, gator bites tender and the steak was perfectly cooked and tasty. Great prices also. We will go back on a night when there is live music. We had a nice talk with the owner, a really nice guy. I have to wonder about the one star revue when all the rest were 5 stars. Neon Leons is on our list of nice restaurants in Citrus and we will tell all our friends about it. Another plus- The beer is ice cold. Give it a try!
My family of four went to this place for dinner last night. My husband and I had been there when they first opened and were disappointed, but thought we should give them another chance.
We ordered our food, and an appetizer for the table. The onion ring appetizer was ok, nothing special. Then we waited for our dinner - and waited - and waited.
For more than 45 minutes after delivering our appetizer, we got no food and our waitress ignored us, so finally we flagged down a guy we later found out was the owner. We said we had been waiting a loooonnngg time, 2 tables of four who came in behind us already had their food, could he tell us what was going on? He comes back out of the kitchen with a handful of tickets and starts going off on us that our order was almost ready, it was put in at thus and such time, he didn't think it was unreasonable to wait 45 minutes for food, what was our problem, etc. etc.
He escalated our simple question into a loud, rude recitation of how wrong we were to dare complain. We couldn't get a word in edgewise, he was that crazy. After insulting us in this manner, we again said we wanted to leave, and would pay for what we had eaten. He said our order was coming up next and that we BETTER not leave without paying for it - a couple minutes later he just about THREW our plates on the table. The food had obviously been sitting for some time as it was cold. We said it was unacceptable, we didn't want it, we just wanted to go - and he immediately threatened to call the police if we didn't pay for the inedible mess we were served and didn't eat. He did; we waited for the officer to show up.
No apology for the wait, no attempt to work something out, just screaming, threats, and an immediate call to the sheriff's department.
We figured as soon as the owner greeted the officer by his first name that we were going to lose the argument. Sadly we were instructed by the officer that we had to pay for what we ordered no matter that we didn't eat it, no matter that we had been verbally abused - nothing about the customer matters. Oh well, live and learn - that's 2 hours of our lives we're never getting back.
