Ate here with my husband for dinner and considered this restaurant only average. We are not big cajun fans, however the restaurant was highly recommended. We were seated right away, and thankfully we arrived early because it was not busy when we got there. It got pretty busy within the hour, though. The music was karaoke-style country by a gentleman who had a decent voice, but we would have preferred a more rock n roll style. I had a small bowl of jambalaya with my meal, which came without rice...I guess you only get the whole shabang if you actually order the entree. My husband had the soup of the day-crab bisque, which was really good but lukewarm. He had the filet mignon special, and I had the stuffed grouper special. Both came out luke warm, but were very tasty. I don't fault the waitress or cook for this, however, since there appeared to be no heat lamp to keep food warm for a few minutes before the waitress could get back to the window to pick it up. His steak was not the most flavorful but some onions and mushrooms solved that problem. My fish was very good, and filling. The waitress was friendly, but did have to be asked for water and napkins multiple times throughout our meal. We were pleased, and may return for lunch, but didn't find any reason to rave. Not sure if we'll be back for dinner.
Another very good experience this past Friday evening. Full house a lot of fun, friendly staff and good grub. You might have to wait a tad for your food but it is made to order and served with a smile.
I travel all over the US and globally and for a joint hidden in the woods there Cajun food is excellent and some of the best I have experienced anywhere.
I went to Neon Leon's today for lunch. I ordered something I was scared of, since I mistrust seafood in general, if I'm not at the dock buying it. It was the Seafood Etouffee. I thought I had died and went to heaven! It was one of the best dishes I've ever had in a restaurant. However, if you have a smaller appetite like me, ask for the lunch portion, even at dinner. You will clean the plate! Those beautifully seared scallops.............don't get me started!!!!
