Good everyday P.Rican food. Some good, some Ok. Their pasteles and beef stew are great! Their prices very reasonable. Not much of decor/ambiance. Service is very good. More of a 3 1/2 star rating.

Highly recommended! Elgins best kept secret! A hidden "Gem". Good old fashioned home cooked Puerto Rican meals made to order just like mom made back home. Offering many of the traditional favorites. Very helpful, kind, & attentive staff. Prices are moderate. All meals are freshly prepared with fresh ingredients! Generous portions. My family of four have ate there on many occasions & have recommended this restaurant to neighbors, clients, coworkers, & others craving for that Carribean flavor including the visiting baseball team from Puerto Rico (that plays in a tournament every year in Crystal Lake) longing for real Puerto Rican food in The Fox River Valley area without having to drive 45 miles into Chicago.

We have been to this restaurant twice now. The puerto rican rice is fantastic. Also, the side order of beans was excellent, very nice flavor the night we ordered them. The staff is very helpful and willing to explain the menu. The pork chop dinner is excellent, was not as pleased with the fried chicken. The bacaelito (sp.) is good. Also had the stew special on Thursday night, needed more flavoring. The prices are also excellent. We will definitely go back.
