Conour is an awesome shelter whose staff and volunteers care deeply about the animals. This is the place to go if you are looking for a four-legged companion. Frank is the best!

Monte Vista Colorado is a small town, with a high percentage of residents at poverty level. This animal shelter is staffed with the most caring individuals and volunteers from the local area. The animals are each individually treated with exceptional regard for health, safety, and happiness. Even though the town and surrounding area is primarily low-income, the Conoer Shelter maintains as a primarily no-kill shelter. We are so fortunate to have this haven in our area. The days are often hectic with new arrivals, and adoptions, occurring throughout the day. And cleaning, walking dogs, playing with the dogs and cats, and health issues being attended to by staff management. Please, contributions are sorely needed. Visit if you can and you will see this is a shelter above the rest thanks to the staff.
