About:On an unassuming corner of the revitalizing Burnside corridor, Screendoor looks more like a dining hall than your average restaurant. However, within this unassuming space, you'll find a foodies take on the best of southern cooking, leaving the Cajun seasoning to other restaurants. The mid-priced menu always includes fresh, local ingredients with familiar sides, such as cheesy grits with the artisan cheese of the day. Signature drinks from the full bar are delivered by a friendly and fast staff. Check out weekend brunches to sample the pecan praline bacon, and enjoy the patio during the dry summer months.

Good, just not worth the wait for breakfast.

There was nothing really memorable aside from the wait.

The restaurant has great atmosphere, good service, and plate licking food. Our party had the hush puppies, catfish, fried chicken, pork chop, mac 'n cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, red beans & rice, corn bread and coleslaw. It was the best sotuhern meal we've had since we left Texas. The fried food wasn't heavy or greasy, it had lots of flavor. The cornbread actually had corn in it. Yum! Hushpuppies were hot and really tasty with the pepper sauce or the mustard sauce that came with it. The only disappointment was not getting there early enough to order fried okra, as it's one of my favorite southern dishes. I would definately recommend the Screen Door to anyone wanting a great meal.
