I have known Chef since my Cotton Club days when I used to help with promoting the Ms. Cotton Club Pageant. Dr. Nazon, the owner of the Cotton Club would have Chef cater the afterwork parties. Oh, my God! The food is fabulous and has remained consistent throughout the years. If you like your food well seasoned, freshly prepared and healthy, this is the place for you. Chef and his staff uses a combination of seasonings from Indian, African, Mexican, Italian and several others. Their food is always prepared and/or stir fried in Olive Oil. Although the containers are throwaways, they in and of itself are elegant and they give you a lot of food. No pork or beef, just ground turkey, chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes. I could go down the menu because I think throughout the years, I've probably tried and LOVED just about everything. The staff are always pleasant and they have somewhat of a seethru kitchen so that you can watch as they prepare your food. They also have specially made lemonade and iced tea that are to die for and please, do not get me started on their desserts. You have not lived until you've savoured the dishes prepared by Chef and his staff and oh, yeah, eating healthy has NEVER tasted so good! So, make it a Chef Luciano's night or leave the gym and head on over to Chef for a healthy and tasty dinner that will more than compliment your workout and enjoy!
Forget about that grocery store chicken: After you eat here, you will never want to get a grocery store chicken again. The baked chicken is phenomenal - always tender and juicy, and a great value. And the red beans and rice that come with it put the other local chicken places to shame. The only downfall is that they close at 7 - so be sure to come early to get the best chicken around.
I eat here four days a week.: Pollo al Carbon has to be the best Chicken in Chicago. It is always fresh and seasoned so well, wonderful flavors just explode in your mouth. Even the Chicken Breast is juicy and tender. Rice Pilav is very flavorful and Red Beans with Garlic and Ginger. Great Value. And Healthy Food. My favorite is Half Chicken for 5.99 it is the BEST BUY!! Friends you won't be disappointed. Shelly from State St.CarWash.
This place is always busy with beautiful people. Everyone knows the Chef.
