User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is the second John's in Birmingham. The first is downtown and is Birmingham's oldest restaurant. The Owner of the two usually stays at this location and it is beautiful and the food is great. Very moderatly priced for upscale food and wine. We enjoy going here with friends. Everything on the menu is great!Trussville finally has a nice sit down restaurant!
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI have lived in Trussville for 6yrs and have really seen it grow fast. I have been to John's Diner downtown many times through the years so I was excited to know there would be second one here. We have given the Trussville location several attempts to measure up but it just never happened. The food is very pricey for what you get, the wait staff not properly trained, have requested to speak to Mgr and was told Mgr was on the telephone. Sadly we stopped trying to like this restaurant and have found our business is much appreciated elsewhere.

I had a horrible experience at John's Diner. The food was under cooked, then over cooked. Service was bad and to make the evening more of an aggravation I wanted to speak with the manager. He would not come to my table. I learned from the our waitor the owner was on site. We asked for him to come to our table. He was too busy with the other two tables at were present at 8:00 on a Saturday night. So no owner either. My meal was not comp. - my out of town guests were not impressed with the food, service or the obnoxious manager/owner. Never again with I dine there and I advice you not to either. Poor customer service.
