We have received top-quality care for wellness & checkups, expert opinion and recommendations, and lifesaving surgery and post-op care for our green iguana Emerald.
Dr. Maas and his staff are dedicated, helpful, skilled, and caring. Well worth the drive and the fees.
I recently had to take my bird into this clinic for an emergency visit on a Saturday. First off, I was thrilled that they were even open. I was going to an Avian vet in Lake Stevens & didn't realize that he did not have any urgent care services for after hours or weekends. I rushed my bird to this clinic I'd never been to before. The staff was very sweet & the office was very clean and comfortable. Dr. Maas was working and got my bird right in, diagnosed her, and began treatment. Needless to say, he was very knowledgeable and caring. He called daily to give me updates on her status (even on Sunday evening) and took great care of my bird. This is a wonderful clinic.
My only semi negative comment would be that I felt the pricing was a little high. I'm not the best qualified to make that statement thou as this was my first ER visit with either of my birds so I don't know what vets usually charge. It's a tough pill to swallow to pay a $1000 for a bird that weighs less than a pound!!!! Good news is my bird is better now & they saved her life. Thanks Dr. Maas :)
Dr. Maas and his staff have been absolutely fantastic in their care of several of my animals. Their fees are no higher than any other vet clinic and I think their service is superior. I have quite a variety of animals and have been to other vets in the past. I definately think this is the right clinic for my critters to receive the best care possible. Dr. Maas is confident and accurate in his diagnosis and is willing to phrase it in layman terms so that the procedures are understood. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone with an exotic pet. Not only that but an after hours emergency number is offered incase the animal cannot wait for normal business hours. I would not hesitate to recommend the services of this clinic.

Yes, they seem fantastic, but are they really? My wife and I took in our guinea pig for a tooth ache and came out spending well over 800 dollars on other proceedures that in retrospect didn't seem necessary, or did the g. pig show any signs or symptoms of before we took it in. They sure can sell tests and operations to you, and make you think them absolutly necessary to the welfare of your animal. The staff are very nice, and the doctors do seem knowlegdable. Just make sure to ask to see results of tests and actual xrays. We never saw anything to prove to us thatthe tests and operations were necessary. We once called the after hours number because of an emergency with our g. pig after an âabsolutly necessaryâ surgery and were not treated very nicely although they told us to call anytime. Beware of this clinic, they seem great on the surface, but underneath its all about the money.
Hmph, I can't agree with the conclusion. If you wanna dance, you gotta pay the piper, and Dr. Maas and staff play a symphony. As Hagrid put it "Ah, well, people can be stupid abou' their pets." I discovered this after paying a three-figure bill (at another clinic, not Dr. Maas') for a $3 mouse. Just pay the bill already.
