I got in free as a comp, if I would have paid the 22 I would have been disapointed. A few years back I saw a museam exibit in Chicago on the Titanic and really enjoyed it. Fact is they have 2 deck chairs and a ssteamer box, also several letters from the ship. The presentation was great but they dont have all that much as far as real pieces of history.
Really great museum. It displays alot of great artifacts from the ship. The overall disign is truely amazing. My favorite feature is the grand staircase. The museum is also stroller/handicap accessible. The only drawback that I have is that you can not take pictures and there are no pamplets with the exibit information.
AWESOME!!!!!! This is a must see for those who love the legend and the movie. We loved every minute of it. It takes 2 hours, so if you have little ones...this is probably not for you. You receive a "boarding pass" as you get "on the ship" which has the name of a passenger or member of the crew who was actually on the Titanic. It contains details about your "person" who will be your companion thoughout your tour. You will be able to find out at the end of the tour if he/she survived or was lost.
As you enter, you get your ticket and proceed over to put your hand on the "ice berg". The "ice berg" is icy, and your hand print stays there as your body heats melts a bit of the ice.
You proceed on the tour through several rooms filled with photos, memorablia, and actual things from Titanic and her sister ship, the Olympic. You can see what a first class cabin was like....see a third class cabin....see the making of and several things from the movie "Titanic"......feel how cold the ocean was that night that it sank....climb up the deck as the Titanic sinks......and climb the gorgeous main staircase where Jack met Rose for dinner.
We are planning to bring our 14 year old daughter back to tour it. I think that we would see more things that we missed the first time. Oh....by the way....my person on my boarding pass...lived....but my boyfriend's person died.
