Grand Junction's top new restaurant and wine bar offers casual, yet elegant surroundings with an exciting menu concept. Located one block north of Main street in Grand Junction, guests can stop in for a casual light amuse-ment or a traditional dining experience with an ever-changing, eclectic, seasonal menu. Sharing plates of lobster mac and cheese, beef short rib quesadillas, Ahi eggrolls or full entree to include Choice Black Angus Delmonico, Roast Rack of Lamb, House made buckwheat fettuccini with an exotic mushroom blend, fennel, cipollini sauce and fish that is flown in twice a week from Honolulu. 626 features over 40 wines by the glass with the list done in "flights". Come for lunch and have a half glass! Burgers, organic salads, creative sandwiches are served six days a week. If you have a special request whether it dietary or occasion, just give us a call. |

User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe food and service here can be highly variable. Once you might have the delightful fine dining experience you were hoping for. Then twice you will have OK food and wine, then once you will have burnt soup and totally unseasoned black emperor's rice or a flight of soured wine.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. . . and open Sunday night! We found 626 on Rood through a stroke of luck and thoroughly enjoyed the wine and food. We tried three appetizers, a flight of Pinot Gris and another flight of red wine, and split the house salad -- everything was delicious and very nicely presented. The chef uses local produce and somebody here really gets good food and its pairing with wine. Service is friendly and very relaxed. Located one block off Main in the historic downtown, 626 offers an urbane dimension to Grand Junction dining. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Grand Junction.

We had an exceptionally disappointing experience at 626 on Rood. The service was appalling (our server was slow and inattentive and actually overcharged us) and the food was overpriced and mediocre. I will never dine there again and would not recommend it to anyone.
