always have a good visit here. service is good and food is hot.
I love eating a good steak, and Chili's is not the right place!!!!!!
Terrible service and poor management: I generally think of chilis as a good value and having decent food....today though I have changed my mind. I recently visited the Chilis in Montclair, CA and was appalled at their extremely sub par service, food quality, and overall management of a restaurant. My lunch date and I both had to wait 45+ minutes for our food, which when it did arrive was cold and practically inedible. We were told that a large "lunch party" was tying up the kitchen...we saw no large lunch party, nor large crowd. When we told the server we were in a rush (due to us waiting 45 minutes for our food) she said she would bring us some boxes so that we may take the rest of our food to go. Now I dont know why it took her a good 10+ minutes to get our boxes (perhaps she was running a small box manufacturing shop in the back) but she took her time and our patience in getting them. When she did return she was unapologetic about our wait and delivered us the check with a very disturbing look (like we were troublemakers) I was very upset about the lack of service and terrible food quality, I told her I wanted to know who the manager was.....and boy was that a mistake. The manager or perhaps a homeless person, was about the most unkempt person I ever saw, it looked as if he just rolled out of bed, and came into work. He was also very unapologetic, he also referred to the elusive "lunch party" that neither I nor my date could locate. Now we didnt ask for free food, or anything of the like, we merely wanted to bring to the attention of the management the lack of quality control in the restaurant....He didnt care, and simply said that we need to understand how a restaurant works. Now obviously Im not in the food business, but I do believe that the customer should be entitled to decent service and reasonably good food. I also have enjoyed Chilis many times for their quick service, good food, and reasonable prices. Im going to chalk up this particular Chilis (Montclair, CA) to just a bad apple and avoid it, while still enjoying other local outfits with better service, quality, and management.
