Firehouse charged us $26 per person for a group lunch. I got the fish tacos and it was 3 small tortillas, 90% was lettuce and a tiny piece of grilled mahi, which I don't even remember tasting. I ate the whole thing in 1 minute and was still hungry. That was it, no sides, no appetizers, no dessert, and a soft drink - $26! There wasn't anything special about the dish or anything else to justify that cost. Firehouse just gouged us.
Went there last Friday and was impressed. Had read about them in a write-up so and friend and I decided to check them out. The service was excellent, nice and fast. Food was good and the ale was good as well. The setup up of the place on the first floor is more of a sports bar type of feel, but if you want a more intimate setting the upstairs would be a better choice. Check them out and judge for youself.
This place took over the old Stoddardâs Brew Pub location on Murphy Ave, but they didnât do much in terms of improving the menu. I had lunch their recently and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food, the portion size and the service. We waited 30 minutes or so to have our orders taken, then waited another 20 minutes for our food to come out. I love the location, so I was hoping the new owners would provide a quality dining establishment on Murphy, but those hopes were dashed during my one and only visit. I wonât be going back.
