We provide sheltering for an average of 2500 animals each year from southwestern Indiana, southeastern Illinois, and northern Kentucky. The VHS Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic provides high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter for dogs, cats, and rabbits year-round by appointment. We have no income or residency requirements to use our Clinic, nor do we have weight limits. The Pit Stop program offers free spay/neuter for pit bull-type dogs living in Vanderburgh County. The Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic operates on Saturday mornings from 8-12, providing preventative services such as vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing, and flea/tick/heartworm prevention to dogs & cats. No appointment is needed! The Happy Tails Resale Shop sells gently-used household items, clothing, books, movies, and more every Saturday from 8:30-3 excluding holidays. The shop is volunteer-run and proceeds from sales benefit the VHS' lifesaving programs. Less
