This place is the best facility in the area when it comes to Ice Arenas, Gymnastics, Health & Fitness Centers. They have sooo much to offer! Thank you Midwest!

This entire review is our opinion. When we first went to the facility, we had high hopes for a local community rink; what potential especially in this area. Unfortunately week over week we've become extremely disappointed and have subsequently left and joined another rink - a professionally ran one. It is a world of difference and although the travel is a bit longer - we'll invest the time to steer clear of Midwest Training center. Our opinion is the place is dirty and unkept, we heard that the zamboni isn't conditioning the ice properly, lights aren't always on for practice (a dim glow), and the emergency lights failed to go on during a recent power outage leaving many children on the ice in darkness - now thats safe !. The office staff are unfriendly, and the owner is unapproachable regarding any of these matters. Until recently there was a phenomenal coaching staff of professional stature, but they have been methodically fired or maneuvered out because they have approached ownership with constructive criticism and interests to improve the program. Now ownership is price gouging with an inexperienced coaching staff. If you stay away from the staff, and come only for recreational open skate its fine, just watch the quality of the ice surface for your safety. We are of opinion it is solely inexperienced ownership not understanding how to successfully run a small business let alone a skating program. And finally, we wanted a family oriented atmosphere, go on youtube and search under midwest training and ice, chi town shooters - there are some really good brawls on AND off the ice. In double checking that they are still posted, the video's now have music over which is a step better than the yelling of foul language during fights in the stands...If ownership changes and improves the place - we'd love to come back.

I agree with both of these reviews. this place is horrible. they treated my daughter and I like a dollar sign, and what's with the fat blond lady behind the counter man is she mean. really mean. I would never go back!!!!! although my daughter just started skating she doesn't even want to go back. she said it was no fun! and were do they get those instructors?? they look like they need lessons. this is just one moms opinion. I won't be going back.
