I entered one of your stores Friday April 10, 2009 at approximately 6:30pm. After I finished shopping I proceeded to the 15 items or less line because I only had a few items. A lady walked in front of my cart as to root the line. I immediately told her that this was my cart and she need to get in line. She went back and forth with me stating that she only had one item. I got the cashiers attention and asked him not to wait on the lady in front of me because she rooted the line. I also told him that I would contact his manager if he in fact waited on her.
After the person in front of her finished checking out, the cashier proceeded to wait on her even after I explained to him that she rooted the line. He stated that she only had one item and he was going to wait on her. At that point it did not matter how many items she had, it was the principle of the matter. Itâs rude to jump in front of people.
The lady and I did exchange a few words and the cashier showed my item back in order to wait on the customer. He yelled at me several times and then cursed at me and said, âItâs just a damn cakeâ. (That was totally out of line.) He continued yelling at me, telling me to calm down (as if I was irate) but never said anything to the women yelling at me. An associate walked up to the lady trying to diffuse the matter by telling her to come to another line and get waited on. The cashier still continued to push my items to the side trying to wait on her. The sound of those curse words still resonates every time I recall this situation and I canât believe my ears.
I donât care what is going on in the store a sales associate/cashier/manager, etc. no what your title is, cursing at a paying customer is unacceptable. He was very rude, never said hello, goodbye, thank you, have a good day, nothing. Why? Because he wanted to wait on someone who jumped in front of me and I refused.
