Don Corleone's Brick Oven Pzzr

I am always somewhat hesitant writing an average (or worse) review when there are so many things appealing about a restaurant other than its food: the service, its proprietors and/or management, ambiance and so forth.

On a late afternoon last Sunday, my son and I had two different kinds of the New York-style sliced pizza: cheese (mine) and pepperoni (his). It came out of Don Corelone's famous brick oven looking great (fantastic infact)...but tasted flavorless. For the life of me I could not get discern anything from either the tomato or cheese...and for the first time in decades found myself putting grated parmigiano on it in an attempt to get at least some cheese flavor. Admittedly, my eight-year-old like his pizza.

Perhaps my expectations were too high having heard/read so many great things and the cook(s) might have had an off-day - or both scenarios. Whatvever the case, I look forward to giving Don Corleone's another try.

The Don's Brick Oven Pizza deserves the 5 Star ratings here. I live in Arlington but working now for 3-4 months in the Sterling/Ashburn area. This is hands down the best pizza in the Washington metro area. I have been there three times and get 1 or two slice w/ a coke. I urge everyone to try this place out. You will get hooked by the food and the friendly staff.

best pizzs in town. you get what you pay for and this pizza isnt cheap but very tasty. i can take down a large easily.
