Matthew is totally wrong!!! you probably did not come at the right time. If you come to get a seat and a doughnut you should come from 6 am-8 am about after 8 the place gets packed!!! Dude every bite you have to treasure its amazing!!! I come to Hilton head 4 a week during the summer with 7 cousins/kids and 8 adults and some of the family is hard 2 please but when we come to bring doughnuts back 2 the house everyone's happy. They put so much thought and love into each doughnut. They are perfect every time. Yes the building is small but they are so friendly!! But come early and it won't seem small or busy. I have come over 10 times and I know what I'm talking about. They even sell hats and different colored t-shirts with the logo printed on it and they are so cute!!! Defiantly make time 4 at least one visit on your trip and you'll understand!! I recommend for your first doughnut a plain honey glaze doughnut. :-)))))
The doughnuts were great. However the service and layout of the restaurant lame. First off, the cafe is small. The layout of the cafe is ridiculous, you get to look at the donuts in the display case after you place your order. The first counter girl was ridiculously rude. I tried to order my daughter a design your own donut and the counter girl just stared at me and when I asked again, she told me they weren't available any longer. (Someone just posted one on their facebook, and it was on the menu). The 2nd counter girl was pleasant, (and very preggo - she was polite and on her feet for hours while building a big baby in her belly). Seriously how hard is it to be friendly - you work with yummy baked goods. My cappuccino was bad and tasted old. But the place is known for donuts so whatever. The restaurant was packed, so we ate outside - hot sticky outside and the server brought our donuts out on a single plate. So we had to fight our way back into the restaurant through the long long line for plates as we all couldn't share one single plate. The donuts were awesome and tasty, but NOT awesome and tasty enough to deal with that place again. Skip it and grab a dozen at Publics and head to the beach. Just my honest opinion.
