| About: | With an extensive menu, Eagles Restaurant is open early and closes late to satisfy hunger at any time of the day. With the Anheuser-Busch Brewery just next door, beer is incorporated into many parts of the menu. Meat is cooked over Budweiser-bathed beechwood chips and their beer is available as a beverage. For breakfast try the Breakfast Ciabatta, Ciabatta Bread with scrambled eggs, mozzarella cheese, and sun dried tomato pesto. Or for dinner try Duck Purses Fried Wontons filled with beechwood smoked duck breast and raspberry mascarpone fennel salad, fig and chive essence. If you aren't in the mood for a Bud, there is an extensive list of after dinner drinks including port, cordials, scotch, and wine or even a variety of cigars to enjoy in the lounge. It opens daily at 6:30a. |

Visited Kingsmill this weekend for our first wedding anniversary with high expectations.
Firstly, let me say that not everything was bad. Some things were excellent, but some were very bad.
Welcome was fantastic. Very nice setting and very welcoming hostess. Lovely live music in a very warm bar area. Nice ambience. Very prompt and attentive waiter who catered to our every whim. Excellent beer. Fantastic menu at reasonable prices. All going very well so far. Then the food arrived.
Turns out the menu was very misleading.
Lamb lollipops with asparagus shooter equals 3 poor quality lamb cutlets with four asparagus spears in a shot glass. Laughable really.
My ceviche was cooked in a pan. Ummmmmm?
My chicken roulade was billed to come with pork sausage. It did, but the sausage was the about a 3/4 inch disk a 1/4 inch thick. The roulade was tasty but tiny for 25 bucks.
Now the absolutely worst thing about the meal. The cheese. I always ask if the cheese is served at room temperature as all cheese should. I never want to eat blue cheese straight from the fridge. For me it is like eating steak cold. It is not very nice. Our waiter offered to bring the cheese to our plate at the start of the meal. We accepted as it seemed like a reasonable suggestion. It was still icy cold by the end of our meal. The cheese was very poor quality. I don't think a board with cheese that you can buy at Walmart is fitting for one of the world's finest golf courses. It was terrible.
As it was our anniversary I could not be bothered to complain as I have no intentions of returning. To sum it up, if you intend to charge 100 bucks for a meal for 2 at a beautiful setting, make sure your food is up to it. High class menu doesn't equal high class food.
Avoid this place if you like food!
Great food, good atmosphere. Amazing views from the marina! Overlooks the James river. Awesome to see at sunset.

Forgot to mention that the toilet was filthy. Very filthy.
