    Don't let a negative experience with this Sonny's make you think that all Sonny's are like this. Most of their locations that I have been to are outstanding. This one is not as good, but my wife and I still eat there occasionally. I recommend the pulled pork or St. Louis ribs.

    ok, new to florida, and I have noticed customer service is lacking in alot of areas. I am used to FRIENDLY, SERVICE. I have worked in several busy resturants in my life and do have to agree with the other review about dirty. The chairs looked like they haven't seen the wet side of a towel in a long time. We were seated and the order placed but, after 15 minutes, no drinks, no food, and to be honest, I think the drinks should have atleast been out. Iced tea and lemonade. My children were actually being patient for a change, but I think that we had every right to get up and leave. I don't think that if you can not handle customers with alittle bit of respect, curtosy and prompt service, then you shouldn't be a server. I totally agree that the place could be cleaner, and coming from another state(INDY) that alot of resturants in the lakeland area are filthy. Not to mention gas stations. Don't the health department do reviews here? After all it is for OUR safety, the customers who pay the servers(tip). I think that sonnys would have been a wonderful dinner if we would have been treated the fairly and had a server that cared about protecting the reputation of the business he works for? After all no customers, no money, no job. Get a clue! Run the resturant and have happy guests, or have more people leave and not eat!

    Thank you sonnys for a wonderful dining expierence. We really enjoyed the service and the drinks. I don't think so.

    This place ( SONNY'S BBQ US N 98 LAKELAND, FL.) was so nasty we got up and left before we even ordered! As soon as we walked in I noticed it looked dirty but I gave it the beneifit of the doubt. When we got seated the girl took us to a table where food was still on it, instead of seating us somewhere else she took her hand and wiped some of the food off the table. I took a napkin and tried to clean the rest. Knowing that some people have bad days I went ahead and sat down. Then I started to look around. The whole place was filthy! My girlfriend asked me what I was going to get and I replied NOTHING I refuse to eat here I told her if it looked like this out here I don't even want to know what the kitchen looked like so we got up and left. I would not recommend this place to anyone I wouldn't even give a dog the bones from there. DO NOT GO if you do walk around and make sure the whole place is clean I would even ask to see the kitchen.
