I saw an big article in the newspaper about Chuck Mower making a table and 36 chairs for the Folsom Tavern project over in Exeter. I couldn't believe the photos and how beautiful the pieces were. I went online and saw more of the photos the paper took of the chairs he was making. Stopped by his barn but he wasn't there. Someone minding the place let me look around the showroom anyway. His work is amazing and on display for the public to view if someone is around. I want to go back and see him and ask some questions about techniques on how he makes his furniture.
My windsor side chair was beautiful. I really like that Chuck can make all types of furniture. He makes each piece with such quality you would think that he has only practised making that one type of furniture his entire life.

Chuck is amazing and his work is top rate. He graciously showed me around his showroom and even let me have a peek at the workshop the first time I stopped by. Specializing in Windsor style chairs and settees I was impressed with the number of types and versatility of the furniture that Chuck produces in his workshop. Crafting his masterpieces by hand piece by piece it is not hard to see why quality handmade furniture lasts practically forever. His showroom which is inside his large red barn is like stepping back into a more simple time where people took their time and put their heart and soul into their work. I'm just amazed at what a mastercraftsman can turn out when they apply that same effort and spirit as our forefathers did into their work.
Go see Chuck...look for the big red barn off Route 3 in Merrimack. Ask about the special White Mountain Windsor chair. He had one of those he just made last time I shopped his showroom and it was spetacular and a real tribute to our great state of New Hampshire.

I read that same article. The Folsom Tavern is really going all out on their project. Looking at the online furniture gallery and seeing the showroom before I see why they chose his furniture!
